Amy Butkus, now dancing for 22 years, has enjoyed every moment of these best years of her life. After dancing competitively from elementary through high school, she went on to pursue dance in college by attending the University of Arizona. Maturation and devotion to dance were attributes gained from the UA dance program. The program was driven by outstanding professors, all with the integrity and ability to inspire and transform the inner hearts of its dancers. She trained in Ballet, Modern, and Jazz, was featured in many memorable repertories, and became what she had hoped - a well-rounded dancer. The program was challenging, yet rewarding. After graduation, Amy accepted an invitation to dance with Odyssey Dance Theatre in Utah and continue her obsession with dance. She has been with ODT now for three years, and has been able to perform with outstanding company dancers and train with many accomplished choreographers, including Dee Caspary, Justin Giles, Roni Koresh, and Eldon Johnson. With the opportunity to give back to others as others gave to her, teaching has allowed her the ability to demonstrate and instill the importance of training and technique and couple it with passion and fun, which together generate a successful dance experience.
